Ariel, in astronomy

Ariel (âr`ēəl), in astronomy, one of the moons, or natural satellites, of Uranus Uranus , in astronomy, 7th planet from the sun, at a mean distance of 1.78 billion mi (2.87 billion km), with an orbit lying between those of Saturn and Neptune; its period of revolution is slightly more than 84 years.

Ariel, in the Bible

Ariel (ā`rēĕl), in the Bible, aide of Ezra. In two other passages AV calls them "lionlike men" ("two ariels of Moab" in RV). Nothing is known of them. Ariel is also used as a symbolic name of Jerusalem.
