Asaka

Asaka (äsä`kä), city (1990 pop. 103,621), Saitama prefecture, central Honshu, Japan. It is an industrial and residential suburb of Tokyo. The city has an important metalworks industry and is the site of a large military base.

Existing R&D centers including Asaka R&D Center, Wako R&D Center, and Tochigi R&D Center, which are currently organized based on geographical location, will be reorganized into five centers based on specific functions.
