Assos (ăs`ŏs) or Assus (–əs), ancient city, Mysia, NW Asia Minor, on the Gulf of Adramyttium E of Point Lectum, westernmost point of Asia. Assusor AssosAncient Greek city, southern Troas (now northwestern Turkey). It was founded in the 1st millennium BC on the Gulf of Edremit, opposite the island of Lesbos.
