Atlantik

an association of cooperative enterprises in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) that produces oceangoing fishing and refrigeration ships. The chief enterprise for assembling the ships is the national shipyard in Stralsund. Under the cooperative system the national shipyard receives parts and components from many shipbuilding enterprises and other branches of industry of the GDR. Supplies also come from abroad, primarily from socialist countries. Most of the ships produced by the association are exported.
