The constituent elements in these particle solutions for each fraction of PM from each month were analyzed by Research Triangle Institute (Research Triangle Park, NC) using inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy and are expressed as nanograms per milliter.
Samples were analysed by Fire Assay (FA) fusion with an Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-ES) finish for Pt, Pd and Au, and Aqua Regia ICP-ES for 36 elements.
