Established: 1905. Description: Coordinates the efforts of scientists, activists, lobbyists, educators, and naturalists into a program of environmental effectiveness. Fights for the protection of wildlife and its habitat, forests, and endangered species. Sponsors Audubon Adventures, a program aimed at teaching children environmental awareness. Maintains an activist network for members who pledge to contact their congressperson on environmental issues. Members: 550,000. Dues: $20/year.
Publications: Audubon (bimonthly); free to members, $20/year for nonmembers.

According to a proclamation, Miss Rozenas "worked closely with the Massachusetts Audubon Society and helped build birdhouses for four endangered species of birds: the wood duck, American kestrel, saw-whet owl and the Eastern bluebird.
Forest Service and the National Audubon Society in their continuing efforts to reforest our National Forests (currently, there's a backlog of more than one million acres of national forest that needs to be replanted) by making a donation at arborday.
