(Herald), first Armenian monthly magazine, organ of the commercial bourgeoisie of the Armenian colony in India.

Azdarar was published in the city of Madras from October 1794 through March 1796 by A. Shmavonian. Literary pieces, translations, and historical works were published in Azdarar in addition to commercial, economic, and political news. Reports from Russia were also published, particularly the decree of Catherine II establishing the city of Grigoriopol’ for the Armenians.
