Bülow, Hans Guido, Freiherr von (häns gē`dō frī`hĕr fən bü`lō), 1830–94, German pianist and conductor. After hearing Wagner Cosima Wagner, 1837–1930, was the daughter of Liszt and the comtesse d'Agoult. From 1857 to 1870 she was the wife of Hans von Bülow . In 1870 she married Wagner. One of the first pianists to be concerned with stylistically proper performances, Bülow made critical editions of the works of many composers.
