Bache, Theophylact (1734–1807) merchant; born in Settle, Yorkshire, England (brother of Richard Bache). He came to New York City in 1751 and ran a mercantile firm (in conjunction with his brother Richard after 1765). He was a Loyalist during the American Revolution. His business suffered after 1789.
