Description: Nonprofit corporation made up of state organizations, affiliates, and at large members concerned with promoting the common sense use and responsible enjoyment of horseback riding in America’s backcountry and wilderness areas. Works to insure that public lands remain open for recreational stock use; assists government agencies in maintenance of backcountry lands. BCHA also educates and encourages wise use of backcountry resources by horsemen and the general public. Members: 16,000. Dues: $30/year.
