Bad Wildungen

or Wildungen, a balneologic health resort in the Federal Republic of Germany, near the city of Kassel (in Hesse). The climate is mild—the average temperature during the summer months is 16.4° C; precipitation is about 590 mm yearly. The curative means are cold carbonated mineral springs whose waters are used for baths, inhalation, and drinking; the water is also exported in bottles. Persons afflicted with ailments of the kidneys and urinary and gastrointestinal tracts, diabetes, metabolic disorders, and catarrh of the upper respiratory tract are treated. There are sanatoriums, bathhouses, hotels, and pensions. The season runs from Apr. 1 to Oct. 31.
