Bagharab Bayrakh
(Russian transliteration, Baarab bairakh; Red Banner), official newspaper of the Dagestan ASSR in the Avar language. Published in Makhachkala, it appears five times a week and had a circulation of 37,000 copies in 1970. Founded in 1918 under the name Khaltulel chai (Working People), the newspaper later changed its name several times. In 1968 it was awarded the order of the Badge of Honor.
