Baia

Baia (bī`ä), Lat. Baiae, village, in Campania, S Italy, on the Bay of Naples. In Roman times it was a celebrated spa and a favorite imperial residence, with sumptuous villas (1st cent. B.C.). There are remains of the huge Roman baths.
