Baiangol

an urban-type settlement in Zakamensk Raion, Buriat ASSR. Situated in the southwest part of the republic, 263 km west of the Dzhida railroad station on the Ulan-Ude-Naushki line, it has a population of 3,800 (1968). Coal is mined here, and there is also an electric power station which supplies energy to the Dzhida mining center.
