Balabac

Balabac 

a strait between Balabac Island on the north and the islands of Balambagan and Banggai on the south, connecting the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. The strait is approximately 50 km wide and 49–151 m deep. To the east, the Strait of Balabac is divided by coral shelves, rising 5 m and 3.5 m below the surface, into two passageways: Lumbukan and the Main Passage.

Two armed men, believed to be members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), were killed on Montangule village, Balabac Island, at the southern end of Palawan at seven yesterday morning, Armed Forces information chief Lieutenant Colonel Romeo Brawner Jr.
One of its smaller islands, Balabac, located off the southern tip, is separated from Borneo by the Balabac Strait (Figure).
