Balagansk Steppes
an elevated (450–650 m), broken plain, forming the northern sector of the Irkutsk-Balagansk forest-steppe, in Irkutsk Oblast, RSFSR. The Balagansk Steppes are located on the broad terraces of the Angara and the interfluve of the Unga and Zalari, from Balagansk to the village of Tyret’. Soils are chernozem and soddy-calcareous rendzinas on loess-like loams. The meadow steppes are under cultivation for the most part. Peaks and slopes of northern exposure are covered with pine and birch forests. Karst is developed. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
