balanced line

balanced line
Refers to a cable design that uses the same wire types for the signal and ground. Twisted pair cable is a balanced line. Contrast with unbalanced line.
balanced line [′balĀ·ənst ‚līn]
(electricity)
A transmission line consisting of two conductors capable of being operated so that the voltages of the two conductors at any transverse plane are equal in magnitude and opposite in polarity with respect to ground.
(industrial engineering)
A production line for which the time cycles of the operators are made approximately equal so that the work flows at a desired steady rate from one operator to the next.
