Bogišić, Baljtazar 

Born Dec. 7, 1834, in Cavtat; died Apr. 24, 1908, in Rijeka. Croatian ethnographer and reactionary public figure. Professor at the University of Odessa from 1869 to 1870. Minister of justice of Montenegro from 1893 to 1899. Bošisic compiled a code of civil law for Montenegro and was also the author of books on common law and on the domestic, zadruga, and community life of the South Slavs. He was an adherent of the historical school of law.
