On June 27 Idaho National Laboratory researchers inserted five capsules of barium carbonate into the reactor. Worth about $400,000, the overall program begins immediately and will involve design, analysis and fabrication of a capsule that will contain barium carbonate, which will be irradiated during the test and then shipped to IsoRay for final analysis. The new company, a joint venture between member companies of the Solvay Group and Chemical Products Corporation (CPC), will provide worldwide management of the partners' barium carbonate and strontium carbonate technical grades, sodium sulfide, hydrosulfide and strontium nitrate businesses. |
