Barrancabermeja 

a city in Colombia and a port on the Magdalena River. Population, 78,300 (1963). Railroad station. The main center for the extraction and processing of petroleum, Barrancabermeja has oil pipelines to the port of Cartagena (Caribbean Sea) and Bogotá. There is a petroleum chemicals industry and production of building materials in the city.
