Batenevskii Ridge

a spur of the Kuznetskii Alatau in the Khakass AO, Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR. Maximum elevation, 1,249 m; length, about 100 km.

The Batenevskii Ridge is composed chiefly of sandstones, conglomerates, and limestones, as well as effusive rocks. The part of the ridge that lies along the Enisei River is broken in many places by the valleys of small rivers. Deciduous and deciduous birch forests predominate in the southwestern part of the ridge. Mountainous forest steppe prevails in the northeast. The Batenevskii Ridge divides the Chulymo-Enisei Depression from the Sydo-Erbinskaia Depression.
