Beall Woods State Park

Location: Southeastern Illinois, in Wabash County, 6 miles south of Mount Carmel on Route 1 near Keensburg.
Facilities: 16 class C campsites with restrooms, picnic areas with shelters and playgrounds, hiking trails, visitor center.
Activities: Camping, boating (electric motors only), fishing, hiking, hunting, interpretive programs.
Special Features: Located on the banks of the Wabash River, Beall Woods has one of the few remaining tracts of virgin timber east of the Mississippi River, with trees over 120 feet tall and more than three feet in diameter.
