Bean Hollow State Beach Location: On the San Mateo coast, 17.5 miles south of Half Moon Bay and 3 miles south of Pescadero on Highway 1. Facilities: Picnic areas, hiking trail, self-guiding nature trail, restrooms. Activities: Fishing, picnicking, beachcombing. Special Features: The beach includes numerous tide pools with anemones, crab, sea urchins, and other marine life. Swimming is dangerous because of cold water, rip currents, and heavy surf.
