Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) An organization within the US Department of Labor, whose responsibilities include safety in the workplace; publishes standards in the US Code of Federal Regulations that govern safety in buildings during construction and during occupancy. Abbr. for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Department of Labor. 2. Abbr. for “Occupational Safety and Health Act.” Osha a river in Omsk Oblast, RSFSR, a left tributary of the Irtysh. It is 530 km long and drains an area of 21,300 sq km. Originating in Lake Achikul’ (area 4.5 sq km), which is connected with Lakes Tenis (118 sq km) and Saltaim (146 sq km), the Osha flows through the Western Siberian Lowland. It is fed primarily by snow. The mean flow rate 316 km from the mouth is approximately 2.4 cu m per sec. There is high water in April and sometimes in May.
