Beartown State Park

Location: On the eastern summit of Droop Mountain, 7 miles southwest of Hillsboro.
Facilities: Picnic areas, boardwalk trail (é), hiking trails.
Activities: Hiking.
Special Features: This wild and remote hilltop park contains unusual rock formations, huge boulders, overhanging cliffs, and deep crevasses in a dense forest. Pocketing the face of the cliffs are hundreds of eroded pits, ranging from the size of marbles to others large enough to hold two grown men.
