Beas River

 ancient Hyphasis

River, northwestern India. One of the “five rivers” that give the Punjab its name, it rises in the Himalayas in central Himachal Pradesh state and flows south and southwest for some 290 mi (470 km) to the Sutlej River in western Punjab state. It was the approximate limit of Alexander the Great's invasion of India in 326 BC.

The view of high awe inspiring & snow capped mountain peaks, the gurgling of the Beas River with its clear water which flow the town, the freshness of cedar forests, the sweet fragrance of fruits orchards & flowers gardens, etc have made Manali one of the most popular tourist destinations of the India.
Mary King and Tina Cook both moved into the top 10 places of the individual rankings after clear rounds on the Beas River cross country course yesterday while William Fox-Pitt recorded the second fastest time of the day.
