urban-type settlement, administrative center of Beineu Raion, Mangyshlak Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Railroad station on the Makat-Uzen’ line. Population, 7,100 (1969). A railroad (408 km long) was constructed (1970) from Beineu to Kungrad (Kara-Kalpak ASSR). The main gas line connecting Middle Asia with Central Russia passes near the settlement.

In addition, Kazakhstan is having an internal gas pipeline built to connect Beineu to Bozoi and Shymkent.
AIPK is to deliver the gas to the Beineu Kazakhstan compressor station located on the Srednyaya Azia Center Pipeline, about 60 miles southwest of the License, or by mutual consent, other agreed upon delivery point.
The plan for the project calls for the construction of a 60 mile, 30-inch diameter gas transmission line to the Beineu compressor station on the Srednyaya Azia-Center gas transmission line along with two field gathering stations for the initial development of the field.
