(Académie Royale des Sciences, des Lettres et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique), the central scholarly institution in Belgium.

The Belgian Royal Academy of Sciences, Literature, and Fine Arts was founded in 1772. It is located in Brussels. In 1969 it consisted of ten sections: mathematics and physical sciences, natural sciences, history and literature, ethics and political sciences, painting, sculpture, engraving, architecture, music, and history and criticism. In 1969 it had 86 members and 36 corresponding members. The library has 400,000 volumes. The academy publishes Bulletin (since 1832), Mémoires (since 1779), and Annuaire (since 1835).
