Beliaev, Evgenii Mikhailovich 

Born Sept. 11, 1926, in the city of Klintsy, Briansk Oblast. Soviet Russian lyric tenor. People’s Artist of the USSR (1967). Member of the CPSU since 1952.

Beliaev graduated from the Gnesiny Moscow Music and Pedagogical Institute. In 1947 he became a soloist with the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Carpathian Military District, and in 1955 he joined the Aleksandrov Soviet Army Song and Dance Ensemble as a soloist. He performs Russian and Ukrainian folk songs and works by Soviet composers.
