Berezovskii 

a city in Kemerovo Oblast, RSFSR. Located between the Barzas and Shurap rivers (Ob’ basin). The Biriulinskaia and Zaboishchik railroad stations are 35 km north of Kemerovo. Population, 35,000 (1968). Coal is mined and enriched there (Kuznetsk Coal Basin). There are plants producing reinforced-concrete structural elements and products in Berezovskii. The city was formed in 1965 from the settlements of Kurganovka, Berezovskii, and Oktiabr’skii.


Berezovskii 

a city in Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR, on the Berezovka River (a tributary of the Pyshma). Located 12 km northeast of Sverdlovsk, with which it is linked by a highway, and 6 km from the Berezit railroad station. Population, 35,000 (1967).

There has been gold mining at Berezovskii since the mid-18th century. Berezovskii has a reinforced-concrete products plant and furniture, rug-weaving, and clothing factories. Peat is extracted near the city. Berezovskii was founded as a settlement in the mid-18th century and became a city in 1938.
