Bernburg

Bernburg (bĕrn`brk), city (1994 pop. 37,300), Saxony-Anhalt, E Germany, on the Saale River. It has important salt mines, a large soda plant, sugar refineries, and machinery plants. There is a 16th-century castle in the city.
Bernburg 

a city in the German Democratic Republic, in the Halle district, on the Saale River. Population, 45,800 (1967). It is a transport junction.

Bernburg has a large soda industry, machine-building industry, the most productive cement factory in the GDR, and sugar industry. Potassium salt and rock salt are mined in the surrounding area. Bernburg is the site of the Central Scientific Research Institute for Plant Selection and of an agricultural institute.

Martin Bernburg scored with five minutes to go to ease Morten Wieghorst's side closer to Friday's draw then added a second in the dying seconds when Queens' legs had gone.
Bob Harris' early stunner gave Queens real hope of an upset but the home side took advantage of their need for a second goal with two late Martin Bernburg strikes.
