). Its side chain is a nonpolar, hydrophobic methyl group. The low reactivity of the amino acid permits silk, a protein which contains some 30% alanine, to have a simple, elongated structure with few cross-links. This contributes to the desirable features of the fiber-strength, resistance to stretching, and flexibility. Alanine is not essential to the human diet, since it can be synthesized from other cellular metabolites. It was discovered in protein in 1875.

By its agreement to immediately exit from the beta-alanine business, DNP has self-enjoined from infringing the '381 patent and other valid NAI patents.
NAI did not manufacture, formulate, package, distribute or sell the CarnoSyn beta-alanine used by USP.
With maximized doses of high-quality ingredients such as Beta-Alanine, Raspberry Ketones, Green Tea Extract, African Mango, and Acai Berry, SheBoost(TM) is the most effective thermogenic fat burner on the market specifically designed for women
Even in the face of these headwinds, and our continued significant investment in prosecuting our growing patent estate, the fourth quarter demonstrated increases in patent and trademark royalty and licensing income through expanding acceptance of the usage of CarnoSyn beta-alanine.
The complaint alleges that Woodbolt is marking the Neon Sport (TM) Volt (TM) product as "[a]n in your face, high energy pre-workout with unmatched doses of beta-alanine" and other ingredients, and that "Volt's signature ingredient is surely beta-alanine, and at max dose, Volt (TM) delivers, in many cases, more than 2x the amount of max dosed competing products.
While we continue to support research in the uses for CarnoSyn beta-alanine and at the same time actively pursue infringers, we are seeing continued growth in the adoption of CarnoSyn beta-alanine in more and more product offerings.
For instance, Beta-Alanine is a tried-and-true ergogenic aid that provides carnosine to the muscles - reducing fatigue and increasing exercise capacity.
This increase was primarily attributable to improved operational throughput and lower per unit manufacturing costs partially offset by lower average Euro exchange rates related to our private label contract manufacturing segment, and increased CarnoSyn beta-alanine revenue as a result of our directly taking over the raw material sales and licensing activities effective April 1, 2015.

Beta-alanine is a precursor, along with histidine, of carnosine, which is found in high concentrations in skeletal muscle.
PanD encodes aspartate decarboxylase, which is involved in synthesis of the amino acid beta-alanine, a precursor for pantothenate (which is vitamin B5) and co-enzyme A biosynthesis.
