In southeastern ID, south of Idaho Falls; organized Jan 13, 1885 (prior to statehood) from Oneida County. Name Origin: By ID Territorial Governor William M. Bunn for his friend Henry Harrison Bingham (1841-1912), U.S. representative from PA (1879-1912) and a former Union officer who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1864
