Binz 

a seaside health resort on the Baltic Sea in the German Democratic Republic, on the eastern coast of Rugen Island. The climate is mild; the mean temperature is -0.7° C in January and 17° C in July; the precipitation is approximately 630 mm per year. Methods of treatment include sun and air baths and sea bathing. Patients with functional illnesses of the nervous system, nontubercular pulmonary diseases, hypertension, rickets, scrofula, and exudative diathesis are treated. There are sanatoriums, rest houses, a bath building, and an inhalatorium. The bathing season is from mid-June to mid-September.
