Tsubota says the municipal government wants to increase the number of companies in the area to 500 in three to five years' time with a workforce of 10,000 to make it an IT base as large as Bit Valley in Tokyo or ''Sapporo Valley'' in Sapporo, capital of Japan's northernmost Hokkaido Prefecture.
She said the development would provide clients with a customised office facility, networking benefits and support by specialists during the early stages - not to mention an immediate market presence in an area the Japanese call Bit Valley.
A goal of the magazine is to cover breaking business stories, such as the emergence of Bit Valley (a loose-knit group of entrepreneurs shaking up Japan's business world by receiving some very high-valuation investments from venture companies).
