Died 1591. Official who was close to Boris Godunov. In 1581 and 1585 he was an official in Kazan; later he was sent by Godunov as an official to Uglich, where he managed the court economy for the widow of Ivan IV, Mariia Nagaia, who was living in exile in Uglich with her son the Tsarevich Dmitrii Ivanovich. Bitiagovskii was accused by the Nagois of the murder of the Tsarevich Dmitrii, and he and his son Daniil were torn to pieces by the inhabitants of Uglich. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
