Bittacus Tipularius
an insect of the order Mecoptera. It resembles the crane fly (family Tipulidae). The body, which measures 20–23 mm, is brownish red-yellow. The abdomen is cylindrical; the legs are long and very thin. It preys on other insects. At dusk it hangs on twigs by its front legs and catches its prey with the hind legs. This insect is found mainly in southern Europe. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
