Location: Western Oklahoma and Texas Panhandle. Accessible by US 283; OK 30, 33, and 47; TX FM 2477. Nearby cities/towns include Cheyenne, Durham, Reydon, and Strong City, OK, and Canadian and Pampa, TX.
Facilities: 5 campgrounds, dispersed camping, picnic areas, trails, boat ramps, dock.
Activities: Camping, hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching.
Special Features: Black Kettle NG sits on elevated tableland consisting of rolling sandhills with prairie grasses, sagebrush, and stands of cottonwood trees. Features include Lake Marvin Recreation Area and Washita Battlefield National Historic Site (see entry in national parks section). McClellan Creek NG is characterized by open grasslands, marshes, and woodlands. The grassland's 325-acre Lake McClellan is its primary attraction.
