Blackstone River Bikeway

Location: Completed section is between Lonsdale and the George Washington Highway (Route 123).
Facilities: Picnic area, restrooms (é), paved trail (é).
Activities: Bicycling, jogging, roller blading, cross-country skiing.
Special Features: Bikeway will run along the Blackstone Canal Towpath from Pawtucket through Woonsocket to the Massachusetts border. Route is slated to be part of the proposed East Coast Greenway, a series of connecting bike paths stretching from Florida to Maine.

Projects included the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail in California, the historic Columbia River State Highway Trail in Oregon, the Blackstone River Bikeway in Rhode Island, and the Teton Pass Trail in Idaho and Wyoming.
The Columbia River State Highway Trail in Oregon and the Blackstone River Bikeway in Rhode Island, which are both millennium legacy trails.
