Blackwater River State Park Location: 15 miles northeast of Milton, off US 90. Facilities: 30 full-facility campsites (electric and water hookups), pavilions and other picnic areas and shelters, nature trails. Activities: Camping, canoeing/kayaking (Blackwater River is a designated canoe trail), tubing, swimming, freshwater fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs (seasonal). Special Features: Blackwater River is considered to be one of the purest sandbottom rivers in the US. One of the Atlantic white cedars that line the shore of river was recognized in 1982 as a Florida Champion tree, one of the oldest and largest of its species.
