Blair, John

Blair, John (1732–1800) Supreme Court justice; born in Williamsburg, Va. He attended the Constitutional Convention (1787) and signed the U.S. Constitution. Known for his support of a strong national government, President Washington appointed him to the first U.S. Supreme Court (1789–96).
