Blast Cleaning, Boiler

a periodical cleaning of the heating surfaces of a boiler unit—the steam boiler or water heater proper—and the water economizers and air preheaters that constitute the boiler’s or heater’s auxiliary heating surfaces. Blast cleaning of a boiler is done with steam or compressed air supplied through perforated pipes or through steel pipes equipped with jets.
