Blessingway

Central Navajo ritual. One of a complex system of ceremonies known as sings, or chants, that are performed to restore equilibrium to the cosmos. Blessingways are one of six categories of ceremonies; the others are the Holyways, Lifeways, Evilways, War Ceremonials, and Gameways. Lasting for two nights, the Blessingway is generally performed as one part of a larger ritual event rather than as a stand-alone ceremony.
