Blough, Roger M. (Miles) (1904–85) lawyer, corporate executive; born in Riverside, Pa. He left a Wall Street law firm to join U.S. Steel (1942–69). As chairman and CEO (1955–69) he directed the world's largest steel manufacturer and the U.S.A.'s third-largest corporation. In 1962 his proposal to increase steel prices after a wage-increase settlement led to a famous confrontation with President John Kennedy. He returned to law practice in later years.
