(materials)
A vegetable or animal oil that has been agitated and partially oxidized by a current of warm air or oxygen, including castor, whale, fish, rape, and linseed oils; used in paints, lubricants, and plasticizers.

blown oil
A fatty oil that has been oxidized by blowing air through it while it is hot; sometimes mixed with mineral oil for use as a lubricant; used in paints and varnishes because oxidation increases its drying power and viscosity.
