Bluetooth virus |
0.01 sec. |
Bluetooth virusA cellphone virus that propagates via open Bluetooth connections. Created as proof of concept, the first Bluetooth virus was the benign Cabir virus, launched in mid-2004 from the Phillipines. The propagation occurs because Bluetooth phones can be programmed to signal any Bluetooth phone in the vicinity to accept a new application. If an inexperienced user says "yes," the malware is installed, which can replicate itself as a file in future text messages. In addition, if the infected phone uses a memory card that is ever moved to another phone, the second phone will become infected. See Cabir and virus. How to thank TFD for its existence?
