Bluetooth pairingEstablishing a connection between two Bluetooth devices. For example, to pair a headset with a phone, the phone is configured to "Discoverable" mode and the headset is set up to pair by pressing one or more keys for some number of seconds. Bluetooth pairing attacks whereby an attacker gains full access to the memory content of a phone/laptop/PDA at the point of first communication, gaining the pin code and therefore becoming a trusted device Though sometimes it goes smoothly, the initial setup for Bluetooth pairing varies from device to device, with inconsistent menus and security code inputs often tripping up users. |
