Boccaccino, Boccaccio (bōk-kät`chō bōk-kätchē`nō), c.1465–1525. Italian artist, b. Cremona. He probably made several trips to Venice, for his numerous paintings of the half-length Madonna and Child with Saints derive from Venetian models, particularly from those of Giovanni Bellini. His most impressive work is the fresco cycle of the Life of the Virgin along the nave in the cathedral at Cremona. How to thank TFD for its existence?
