Bochco, Steven (Ronald)(born Dec. 16, 1943, New York, N.Y., U.S.) U.S. television writer, director, and producer. He worked as a scriptwriter and producer for Universal Studios (1966–78) and MTM Enterprises (1978–85) before forming his own production company in 1987. He cowrote and produced such successful television dramas as Hill Street Blues (1981–86), L.A. Law (1986–94), and NYPD Blue (from 1993), winning numerous Emmy Awards for his scripts. Bochco, Steven (1943– ) television writer, producer; born in New York City. He worked as a screenwriter and story editor for shows like Colombo during the 1970s. He created Hill Street Blues (1981–87) and LA Law (1986) for the National Broadcasting Company, both dramatic series with ensemble acting and overlapping plots. Under contract with ABC, he introduced Doogie Howser, MD in 1989 and the controversial NYPD Blue in 1993. |
