Bognor Regis (bŏg`nər rē`jĭs), city (1991 pop. 50,323), West Sussex, S central England. It is a seaside resort. At nearby Felpham is the cottage where the poet William Blake Blake, William, 1757–1827, English poet and artist, b. London. Although he exerted a great influence on English romanticism, Blake defies characterization by school, movement, or even period.

The climate is moderately humid and warm, with small seasonal temperature variations. Winters are mild with average January temperatures of 5° C, and summers are cool with average July temperatures of 16° C. Annual precipitation is about 700 mm. There is a good fine-sand beach; sports include sailing and rowing. Therapeutic remedies include aeroheliotherapy and sea bathing.
